About Mike

Mike grew up in Colorado’s West Slope where he went to elementary school in Rico, Colorado. For high school, the town was so small, they bused the kids to Dolores. After Graduating, Mike moved to Boulder, Colorado to pursue higher education.

At the University of Colorado Boulder, Mike earned degrees in Biology and Electrical Engineering. He began his career at Texas Instruments in Longmont, where he worked as a semiconductor chip designer. He specialized in designing analog front-end chips used to read and write data on magnetic media. After Texas Instruments exited the storage business, Mike continued working for other leading high-tech semiconductor companies. Over the course of his career, he was named on more than 40 patents.

Mike has been married to his wife, Kim, for 32 years and is the proud father of Alexander. He lived in Boulder County for over 40 years before recently moving to Larimer County, just north of Longmont.

In his free time, Mike enjoys flying (he holds a commercial pilot’s license), playing guitar, hiking, biking, cooking, sewing, writing, and is currently considering building his own experimental airplane.
