The Democratic-controlled Colorado House passed HB26-1322 in response to the Supreme Court Ruling that “Conversion Therapy” aka HB19-1129 violated peoples 1st amendment rights. HB26-1322 allows people “harmed” by conversion therapy to sue therapists; this bill was passed just days after the Supreme Court blocked enforcement of the state’s ban on the method.
What the heck is “Conversion Therapy?” It’s something like this: If a therapist tells a biological boy that he is really a boy, or a biological girl she is really a girl that the therapist has harmed the child.
HB26-1322 – The bill establishes a cause of action for claims of injury caused by sexual orientation or gender identity change efforts (efforts) against a mental health professional and allows the cause of action to be commenced at any time without limitation.
While most people are struggling to pay their sky high property tax bills or rents, and the homeless are still homeless, the legislature is working on another high priority item — legalizing prostitution. No other state in the US has ever done this. Thankfully this bill was killed due to public outrage — but they will try again next year. These one party rule clowns are not representing the people of Colorado. They pass any bill they want to… disgusting.
