Colorado’s HB26-1430 -> The Legislative hijacking of a voter ballot initiative “Fix the Roads”

Colorado voter initiative 175 is designed to force the state to use the fees and taxes dedicated to road maintenance, to actually FIX and MAINTAIN the roads. But… the legislature knows better… HB26-1430 is designed to hijack this voter initiative (if initiative 175 passes) rather than respect the will of the people. WHAT!

Clowns at the Capitol know what to do with your $$$ better than you do

The Colorado Constitution gives the people the right to propose laws as voter initiatives. The people don’t expect the legislators to subvert their will, but the current Democrat controlled legislature is doing just that. They have created a new bill (that kicks in if initiative 175 passes), that creates yet a new support road transportation fund, replaces existing general fund transfers, and excludes enterprise fee revenue. In other words, rerouting the road funds to spending elsewhere. Read the actual bill: HB26-1430
